76 ignition switch adjustment..?

76 ignition switch adjustment..?
Recently installed a new ignition switch on the 76. It now turns every single time, so the prob was the switch not the starter.
The starter seems to spin faster than it used to however. It starts and runs fine.
I am preparing for a overseas vacation I am limited on my time until I get back in two weeks, but would adjusting the switch in some way retard the spin? Seems it would not, only how quickly the ignition starts to spin when you turn on the key, but what do I know, that is why I am here.
