I made my decision on the tires size after talking with Mike at SRIII and seeing the 1981? that he did the same thing to. If you check out his web site there is a god pic of it.
I'm going to take a stab at the pictures and say they are 18" 315's and not 17's. With 18's larger Diameter Tires are avalable. I don't know if Aftrmarket Wheels are in Your Plane or C4's. If You really need 17's or not. Some people are running both, 17 up front an 18 out back. If You Search Fender Flare here on the site You will find lots of Picks and opions of what works and what dosn't.

The company is an hour away from where I live. I am going to see them and thinking of going this route with my C3.

I appreciate that, comes from a class act, hardly ever hear anyone say "sorry" they would rather fall on their swords first

I checked with the builder, Mike at SRIII, and verified that the fronts are P275/40ZR17 on 91/2" wheels and the backs are P315/35ZR17 on 11 1/2" wheels. The size as the stock C4 ZR1.

That tire and wheel combination will work fine IF you get the wheels and tires that you want with the backspacing you want and fit the flares to the wheel/tire combo. If you search you will see that the flares have to be "worked" to cover the tire and get the look you want. The L88 flares where made to cover taller tires than the 17" diameter wheels (or bigger) we currently run on these C3s. Also the flare as it comes out of the mold has a large gap behind the tire unless it's modified. If you mount the wheels and tires on the car 1st and install the flares after you can "position" the flares to get the "look" you are after. Some guys like the tire at the edge of the flare some guys like the tire "tucked in" a little. Ride height and suspension travel should also be considered. It looks great when the tire is at the edge of the flare and the top of the tire is even with the wheel opening but what happens when you hit the 1st bump? The 17s in the sizes you're looking out will provide the performance you're looking for and will look great doing it if you position the flares to your combination rather than installing the flares and then trying to fill the wheel wells.

Good luck with your project. You need to start a build thread and post pictures of your progress.

Thanks for the encouragement 3JsVette. I was planning to set the body on the chassis prior to installing the flares. I agree, it would be much easier to make the flares fit the setup rather than try to make the tires fit the flares. I am hoping to post some pics this weekend if time allows. Have to service three vehicles this weekend before I can play. Work first, otherwise can't afford to play.

Wow, that thing is going to draw some well-deserved attention.

Keep the pics coming; looks like a fun build.

Thanks for the good words guys, I appreciate it. It has been a lot of fun so far. I'm trying to get the fuel lines done this week, then on to the brake lines. Hopefully soon after that I can transfer the body over and start on the body work (L88 flares and hood scoop). I' post more pics as the project progresses.
