engine questions
i was thinking about taking one of my short blocks and remove the roller cam and replace with hyd cam. add f.a.s.t. fuel injection use the brodix heads. will stock exhaust work with angle head plugs also has anybody used gear drive timing set up as a weeked car. engine is 358 9.5-1

the engine came out of my short track car with this set up. thought i would be adjusting valve lash all the time you are right about the noise never heard it with open headers just though hyd would make car more driveable

If that's the case, I would agree with switching to a hydraulic cam, but as Gordon implied... use a hydraulic roller. With the rest of the package you mentioned it should run great. You should be able to get a good hydraulic roller for about a grand and it will be well worth it in my opinion.
If you have a gear drive now and are wondering if it will work well on the street, other than being noisy, it should be fine. Then again, a good Cloyes double roller timing chain will be much quieter and run less than $40.
