i need to change my windshield (cracked) I'm going to have i removed and replaced a couple days later because i want to clean up the frame and treat it to kill any place for rust to start. also going to try that Eastwood rust spray for inside frame rails thought I'd try to spray that inside the windshield. frame i want to try and make sure rust does not become an issue
Hi 7T9,
Perhaps you should have the the installer test fit the new windshield so the ss trim can be test fit too.
There are often posts about gaps between the glass and ss trim because the new windshield was installed too close to the frame.
It's some extra work but to my eye worth it.
Regards,
Alan

What Alan is saying is totally correct. I followed his recommendation and ended up dry fitting mine three times to get the height correct. Was not all that hard well worth the effort.

Also I was told when I did mine to use metal etching primer on bare steel where the seal is going to be used, and give it a week to cure.
