If there is enough meat left you can use 2 sizes of coils.

"Somebody's" overtorquing the screws...

You can drill larger for a larger size helicoil, then install the correct size coil inside of it (as mentioned above). You need to put some 'red' Loctite on those coils so that they don't work loose.

Maybe fill with epoxy and drill / tap for original size?

Really the One-Helicoil-inside-another-Helicoil is probably going to be the best, if not perfectly ideal, solution. Carburetors are generally made of zinc ("pot metal") and are virtually impossible to weld. Even if you could you would risk excessive warpage from applying all that heat to a (more or less) precision casting. I would recommend setting the larger Helicoil with JB Weld or a similar epoxy, let that cure overnight, then chase that with the tap used for the smaller helicoil before installing it. Put the second helicoil in with red loctite, let it set up for at least a few hours and be careful not to bubba-crank the screw into the hole when you put it all back together...

Thanks All, should have read before I fixed. i did go to 1/4-20 helicoil, but went to a 1/4-20 bolt rather than a helicoil in a helicoil. It worked though it does not have the stock appearance. next time I open the carb I'll double up the helicoil.
