Doh! I just took my bracket off my '80 because I am converting to a hydaulic clutch for my wife and sold my original clutch mechanism.
Carl, can you measure the bolts I sent you and post the size here? They were fine thread, if I remember correctly.

According to my GM Standard Parts Catalog, the bracket was attached using a metric, hex washer head, self tapping, screw. It's size is listed as M7.9 x 2.12, and the length is 20mm.
Only the 80 & 81 cross shaft brackets were bolted to the frame. 79 and earlier Corvettes had the bracket welded in place.
