There is a vacuum switch the Pass side wiper arm depresses when it is fully lowered in the "park" position. The switch is prone to failing due to age, 3 vacuum lines are connected to it, one is actually a vent line and the other 2 are in the wiper door vacuum control circuit. Here is a link to Wilcox Corvette for the part. It is located under the grille ahead of the wiper door.

Hi jm,
Have you checked to see the vacuum over-ride switch under the dash at the steering column didn't get pulled by accident. It makes the door stay up all the time.
It's the one on the right.
Regards,
Alan
Hey Guys - thanks for the responses and the links. Possible Alan, that the switch is open but I don't think so (did look at it Saturday but will check again) Perhaps the switch is shorting out? One last request...do any of you guys have a diagram showing proper hose alignment?

The switch can't short out, it's a vacuum switch.
Going from memory, it's a two hose connector.
If it doesn't work one way, try the other.
Is the door actually stuck as in frozen or is it being opened by vacuum?
Other place to check may be the control unit under the hood and vacuum hoses going to the valve in the wiper trough. There's a valve which prevents closing the door until the wipers are parked. The right hand wiper arm presses on this valve when the arm is parked.
The "wiper down" depression switch under my wiper door has colored dots on the three hose nipples. I just matched them to the colored stripes on my vacuum lines.
