Default Rear camber question

I am out of adjustment on my left rear strut rod and still can't get correct camber setting. Will adjustable struts give me more range of adjustment? Original strut was bent, I just thought someone hjt something. Now I'm not so sure. Is that how they bubba'd it in the day? Thanks

One of the things that affect rear camber is the diff side yokes. If they are worn on the inside end, you will have too much negative camber.

not uncommon for bubba to bend the strut rods for more positive camber

I'm assuming you're out of negative adjustment?

Looking from the rear, top of tire is tilted in. All new parts. Started with low mi. (15k) car, yokes looked good when I put new u-joints in.

Tilted in is negative camber. You prob. have worn out stub axles causing that, and bubba tried to correct it bending (shortening) your strut rods.

All brand new wheel bearings, set up with correct end play and torqued to spec. New trailing arm bushings, new Moog strut rods, everything. I'm stumped..

With car on jacks grab wheel at 12 &6 and wiggle. I think you'll see the diff stub axle move in/outof the diff case indicating it's worn out .

So you replaced everything but the stub axles, ehh?

Very common problem. You need new differential output yokes, stub shafts, whatever you call them, they're wore out!

I find the differential cross shaft usually wears at a faster rate than a side yoke but, what do I know

Are you trailing arms centered in the pockets? I find the range of camber adjustment on a C3 Vette to be pretty far if all components/frame are not crash damaged.

If you find your cross shaft worn, Tom's Differentials has a good hardened one for sale, better than GM part sold in today's world.

I just went through this.

Even with new diff, yokes and bushings and stock struts, I was just barely making it which didnt make sense. Couldnt figure out why.

No question adjustables would solve this problem. my.02

My trailing arms are centered in the pockets, and did the 6 and 12 check and it seems all good. Didn't pull the halfshafts yet, but everything seems good and tight. Didn't see any play where yoke goes into diff.

Just a quick note , The stout adjustable rods I got with urethane bushings I got from
Mid-America vette are excellent in my 74 L-82 best value I've seen for under 100.00 on sale. Very easy install. Easy to work with instead of old factory rods . Changed the whole
personality of handling . I love em.
