throttle cable bracket for performer airgap

The factory sleeve clamped on the cable end was too far forward then for the CSR bracket so I made my own clamp.
I cut off a 3/4" length of 3/8" dia aluminum tubing and split it into halves. I then used these clam shells to support the cable inside the cable mount.
The set screw that comes with the bracket wasn't long enough to hold the clam shells so I bought a 1/4"x1" set screw and lock nut to hold it tight. The set screw tightens against the top clamshell and does not pinch the plastic cable or interfere with wire cable movement.
Any adjustments are quick and cover any 4150-style carb setup I choose. Easy to adjust for WOT in any position.
I also fabbed a small L-shaped bracket to mount underneath for the double return springs.

(Once the L-88 style hood was reinstalled, I removed the 1" carb spacer because of height issues, used a 1/2" spacer instead.)
This involved some extra work but I enjoy coming up with something clean and effective. This solution works for me and maybe it can help someone else looking to use the factory accelerator cable and CSR style bracket on a Edelbrock Air-Gap.
Good luck.
