Default 3 Wire Ox Sensor for an 85

So Our Project 85 Car is comeing along just fine its a Running and Driveing Car that would barely Start when we Bought it. Very Little was known about it other than it had a Fresh ZZ4. So I had it in Blood Enterprises in Auburn Wa and we found a long list of issues most of wich have been corrected. One thing they told me was I should go to a 3 Wire Heated Oxegen Sensor as the Car has Long Tube Headers and the Exhaust is Cooling to much before the Sensor. So what Year did the C4 get the Heated Sensor? Is any one Sensor better than another and is there one that has an advantage over the rest?? Thanx...

You may want to move this to the C4 Forum (instead of the C3 group). But, I suspect that a heated sensor is the right way to go.

Three wire O2 sensors are the same as 1 wire as far as signal output, with the addition of a heater circuit to bring them up to operating temp faster. This is important with LT headers as they move the sensor well away from the engine. Connect pos and neg to a switched 12V source and run the signal back to the one wire input. GM AFS-74 is a good sensor to run as is typically very accurate and long lasting.
