Valve Cover help.
Alright I am looking at swapping out my valve covers but I am slightly confused on what I have. The valve covers I currently have on my motor seem to have some type of baffles below the two holes in the covers. The new ones I purchased at the sway meet have two holes but nothing under them. What are the baffles for? Will they hurt the performace at all by not having them?

Won't hurt performance but if one of those holes is for the PCV valve you will suck oil into the PCV valve. The oil is flying around under the covers, the baffles keep the oil away from the valve. Find some baffles for the covers.

You will have oil come out anything you put on them, especially breathers. You need some form of baffle. I believe there is a rubber gromet you can get that has a baffle in it if you have room for it. There is no performance issues with not having baffles, just an oily mess.

And after sucking the oil into the PCV valve it will send it back into the motor and cause fouled spark plugs. Definitely need baffles.
