Default Need torque # for bellhousing to engine

I'm a bit confused the manual has two torque values for the bell housing 80ft-lbs and 30 ft-lbs? (4sp manual trans)

The flywheel housing as it is called has 80 for the "pan" bolts and just 30 for the housing??? I'm concerned that 80 ft-lbs might be to much for the aluminum bellhousing,,,but I'm probably wrong.. is the 30 value for the little bolts on the lower cover??

THANKS! Any help will be appreciated.

Howard

HiH,
I believe the # for the front flywheel cover is 80 lb/inches, not 80 lb/feet. 1/4" bolts.
My 71 AIM shows 30 lb/ft for what we call the bell-housing to the block, and 55 lb/ft for the transmission to the bell-housing.
Regards,
Alan
