Hi Everyone, It looks like is my turn to migrate to Florida. I had previously told some of you that I was in the middle of getting a job in Florida.....well its official they called me on Friday and I am on my way to Florida  !!! I will be working for the Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, Office of Aviation. I am in the processes of packing and getting everything ready for the move  . I will be moving from Houston Texas to Melbourne/Titusville Florida with Red and my VFR on May 3rd and I will start my new job may 6th :D . I am not sure where I will be living... Our office are located in Patrick Air Force Base close to the city of Melbourne, so I am thinking of living somewhere between Titusville, Cocoa, Melbourne, Vero Beach...I will figure it out when I get there…It would be nice to hear from the members that live in Florida, and maybe get to know what is going on in Florida this summer :D . I know I will be doing some traveling outside the states for my work but I will be spending most of the time in Florida, it will be a great opportunity to attend some of the CF get-togethers. :D
PS. thanks to tangee for giving me some heads up on the moving trailer clearance issue, i am trying not to get any last minute moving "suprises"

Ray
I live in Palm Bay/Melbourne area. If you want to live on the beach. Melbourne beaches are nice. But $$$$$$$$$$$$$$. If the beach is not all that too you and you don't want all that salt mist on everything. ie TV's/VCR's lasting 2-3 years ex. ex. Cars rust!!!. Palm Bay North West area 20 min from Patrick is a nice affordable area. I will be overseas when you get here, but when I get back if you need anything give me a yell.

WELCOME! Central Fla. is such a nice part of the state.
You will be right near Ecklers, 50 miles away from the NCRS show in Orlando, and best of all.....the all you can eat Prime Rib or Crab Legs at The Cove restaurant in Satillite Beach, right near Parrick
I do so look forward to my trips up I-95 from So. Fla.

South Cocoa Beach is where you want to live. Its only 5 minitues away from Patrick Air Force Base and its not that crowded and the beach is seconds away, walking. I have lived in brevard county almost all my life and love it. Give me a yell if you need anything tom75 p.s. I also have a great vette doctor in the area.
Re: FLORIDA HERE WE COME...FLORIDA or BUST :D (villare)

Re: FLORIDA HERE WE COME...FLORIDA or BUST :D (SIGNGUY)
south beach has no waves. How can you live on the beach and not have waves???? you must be a "tanner". :jester :jester
Sorry, but the one thing I love as much as corvettes is surfing...can't surf the southbeach waters...need to be in west palm for that(I think thats the closest place you can actually surf??). Tampa is pretty nice IMO(plus its surfable).

Tampa? surfing?
I have lived in the Tampa Bay area for a couple of years (in Clearwater Beach) and I am living now since 3 years in Miami Beach. Miami Beach doesn't have too high waves (exept during storms) but the Tampa area has even less waves than Miami Beach!!! The gulf waters are usually very calm...

Hey guys thanks for your messages, it sounds like there is a great group of fellow vetters in Florida I can't wait to attend some of those get togethers and rides sounds like fun. I just wanted to drop a quick post and let you guys know the moving progress... I let people at work that I was going to be sick today and tomorrow :-) cough cough.....this morning I picked up the rider truck and contracted some movers to move my stuff into the truck....so as of 3 oclock today I am about 90 % packed into the truck they did a pretty good job... so now I am getting ready to put whatever is left into the truck (not much just small thing that i did not wanted the movers to damage) and tomorrow red will be getting strapped into the trailer anyway it looks like friday... I will be signing out from Houston and on my way to Florida...

Moving is such a hassle. Good Luck. Heres a aerial pic of your new home, Cocoa Beach. Better get a garage and some frame rust protectant were surrounded by salt.
Re: FLORIDA HERE WE COME...FLORIDA or BUST :D (tom75)
Well, another Texan moving to sunny Florida! I moved here from Dallas last August, to Melbourne area, (Rockledge), and must say I really like it. I'll always be a Texan at heart, but the sunshine state has alot to offer! :seeya P.S. If you need to find a home I sell new homes in Melbourne area!
I'm right up the street a bit from Bob. Melbourne is a nice town, but it's a bit slower and quieter than the surrouding areas. Depends on what you're looking for I suppose. Patricks is an easy shot up US1. I'll be looking for that shark!
