Default Trim panels 1978

Hi,

Got a question... what type of screws do I use, and what type of support can I provide for my trim panels on a 78 vette? They are cardboard cutouts, and I was about to drill a hole through them, but I dont want these things to rip because they are so close to the edge of the trim panel top. So.... any suggestions out there on putting trim panels to the console plate... where can I get screws for them (preferably black).

Thanks in advance

Generally, you can pick up an interior trim "screw kit" that includes most of the different types you'll need...try any of the forum supporters and I'm sure they'll have what you'll need.

Trim panels is a generic term and could refer to the carpeted consoled panels that attach to the console panel; refer to the halo panels or refer to the windshield trim panels. Dark colors used black while lighter colors mixed chrome and black...black used on instrument panel trim.

Tom is right, the best deal is the interior screw kits. It will save you money over the long run! http://willcoxcorvette.com/product_i...ducts_id=26918

I was talking about the console plate trim panels. What size screws to use.
All I need is six of them and I'd just go to Ace hardware and pick them up

The screws for the shift console side panels would be a number 8 size I believe. It has a recessed washer on the head so the screw will not bind in the carpet when tightened.
