Just got the car back from the body shop and am wondering what to do next. I bought new weatherstripping package from one of the sponsoring vendors and had the body shop install the weatherstripping after they got done painting. Well, the weatherstripping is very soft, big and pliable such that the windows close very hard and the t-tops are almost impossible to install. Is it the weather stripping or the install?
I did mine about 6 years ago. got the kit from corvette central.(good vendor) mine also was very soft, and hard to close windows with doors closed. t-tops were a little better, but still had to press down slightly. but it will change with time. maybe a year or so.everything works as it should now.
Hi l,
OFTEN the weather strip needs to be compressed by the doors, windows, and roof panels for a few weeks. They're then easier to open and close but might require a small bit of re-adjustment at that time to get the seal just right.
Regards,
Alan
At first my doors needed to be slammed to shut, but now close just the way they should.
