There is an adapter called the Abbott Cable-X. It has a circuit board and a motor that converts the electric signal from the trans to drive a cable to the speedo. Wide range of calibrations. I just calibrated mine last weekend and it's within 1 MPH of the GPS reading - probably a lot more accurate than the original speedo drive was.
It's not perfect - sometimes from a stop there is a few seconds lag time before the speedo registers, and the needle seems a little slow getting up to a steady speed but in general I'm happy with it.
The company has a patent on the box which is why you probably don't see other similar units on the market.
There is a guy on ebay who always has some for sale with a 'Buy it now' price of $340 or so but he also lists one as a regular auction item for $249. There is not much demand for these boxes so if you wait until the last couple hours of the auction you can usually get it for the minimum price. That's what I did. I didn't find any resellers anywhere on the net that sold one for less than $249.
Easy fix. On mine, I just removed the electronic sender and installed a Mechanical gear insert from a Turbo 350. I bought a new insert from Corvett Central for less than $15 I think. My T5 is a World Class from a Camaro. Good Luck Al
The speedo drive gear insert I used was Part Number 532574 This is also the same insert as used on the T10 transmision. I verified it would work with the original out of my old 4 speed. Note you will have to order the correct plastic gear for you proper ratio also. Good luck and these T5's are alot stronger than many give credit to. Al
