427 valve spring size
With regards to a 1969 Corvette 427 big-block V-8:
1. What is the outside diameter of the stock/original valve springs?
2. What is the largest diameter valve spring that will fit in the stock 427 (L-71 cast-iron, not L-89 aluminum) head WITHOUT machining the valve spring pocket?

Does anyone know the size for sure?
I'm looking to install a "factory muscle" grind cam/lifter kit from Comp Cams and it comes with 1.509-inch o.d. valve springs. I'm really hoping that I don't have to cut the valve spring seats to make them fit.
