Well i decided to go with these...edelbrock 409 in a 16x8...will probably go 235 on the front and 265 on the rear...should have them in 2 weeks...i will post pics when they are on the car.... :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
the guy that i was dealing with knew his stuff so i am confident thay will fit. i had the car there and he came out and checked it out...i have not seen them anywhere on a vette...i think they will be sharp... :chevy
What is all this I always here about "caliper clearance" on Torque Thrusts? Sixteen or seventeen inch rims have MORE clearance than 15" rims. Think about it. And rims that are 8" wide, no matter how tall, are stock width. So they need stock (4") off set. I don't know about other brands but Torque Thrust 2's just bolt on like any other wheel. Some people over think simple things too much. You know like a bigger diameter wheel is going to have LESS room than a smaller wheel. :D
Very sharp...they look like torque thrusts on steroids...I like it  Can't wait to see them on the car
PS About the tourqe thrust II caliper clearance...they will scrape your calipers a tiny amount...I had to space them about 1/18. The guy at NTB said they would fit fine...intellectual.

What is all this I always here about "caliper clearance" on Torque Thrusts?
I was referring to Cragar SS wheels. It has to do with the way the wheels are designed, which apparently differs from Torque Thrust II wheels. No matter what backspacing you get in Cragar SS, the wheel will hit the caliper on a shark. (At least those in the neighborhood of 1977 anyway.) If you looked at the side of my stock wheels that face the rotor, you would see that it is somewhat convex. There is the center where the holes in the wheel meet the studs and then from there to the rim, the backspacing gets deeper. The caliper lives in this deeper groove towards the rim. Cragar SS mags, on the other hand, have the same backspacing from the center of the wheel all the way out to the edge of the rim. Because of this, there is no room for the protruding caliper and spacers are a must. A picture is worth a thousand words, but since I do not have one, I hope I explained the situation clearly here.
