Power Steering Problem - 79' smallblock
I had a steering problem arise on a 1979 vette. While driving the
steering wheel spun to the left and again to the right while I was
making a slow turn at an intersection... thought my linkage broke!
This hasn't occur before on this vette. Is there a problem that needs
to be looked at? Problem hasn't reocurred..yet! Power steering fluid is up to level and the belt tension seems fine.

I agree with drwet. I rebuilt my steering control valve (wrong) and it had the same symptoms as this but it was in my driveway. Rebuilt the control valve again and all is better now. You may have a bad seal in there.
