my 80 has 225/70r-15's and I assume they are stock sized. Rubbing? have you checked yours shocks front & rear? and your front coils ? and your rear leaf spring? I have new front coils/shocks , there is at least a 2 inch clearance all around the tires.

Find the source of the rub. 225s should not rub.

i will try to track down the source. it seems to happen more when in reverse and turning. it probably could use shocks all the way around.

found 1 spot it is the drivers front, front of wheel, lower part of wheel well on the inside. very light tire marks. a friend of mine has a 72 and he said he had the same problem and went to the 215-70-15 coopers.
