Why not.....i built 383 stroker motor out of mine. Yes I left it a 2bolt main. Theres nothing else original on it though.
Do a decent little cam and a new intake and make sure your carb can feed it enough gas youll be ok.
If you have the extra cash and your bottom end is in good shape get you some new heads (aluminum are nice) and raise the compression ratio.
