Kick panel lights??

Kick panel lights??
My kick panel lights are/have been just hanging there since I bought the car. These are the little GRAY lights with arrow like clips on them. Where exactly do they clip into??

Would I dare suggest Purple lights or would that be too much 70's with John Travolta hair, valour shirts, leather jackets, Ha,Karate after shave and playing "Do ya think I'am sexy" on my new Craig power play and Bass 48 speakers?
