All the "supertuning" I have done has been on bikes. And if the valve overlap is non existent, carb tuning is not needed. There are certain setups on bikes especially drag bikes where the overlap is huge and the carb and pipes go hand in hand for optimal wot tuning. I am sure there is a lot of truth in automotive applications as well.

OK,

good healthy debate.

Anyone point to an ''off the shelf"" system (at least headers) that is easily purchased and actually fits without having to modify something else?

I have some previously used BlackJack alumacoated anti reversion headers that went on with zero mods and fit perfect, I think Mr. Gasket makes them now. I have full 2.5 inch custom exhaust with Chambers. A guy in a C5 pulled next to me at a stop light last night and asked if I had flowmasters, I said NO, true 2.5 inch duals and chambers and no mufflers, he said wow! it sounds Awesome!

Scott
Scott is right about K&N. What Amsoil did was add removable oilable foam to the outside of the filter. This picks up all the particles the main filter misses. I road dirt bikes for years and discovered this the hard way.

I added the foam to my 1990 and my 91 Toyota 4x4, they have the K&N filters. I bought the foam at the local motorcycle shop and cut it to fit.
