I have been a vette owner for a little over 6 months now, and last weekend I attended my first ever "bracket race". I am impressed and am considering doing some modifications to my car to make her competition worthy.
Anyone out there doing bracket racing with their car? Got any consistancy advice? and if you could start from a completely Stock L48, what would your dream build out be?
My Goal here is to come up with a laundry list of things to do to the car that I can take one step at a time, but do it in a way that all my parts compliment each other instead of just randomly upgrading things. Let me know your thoughts!
'76 L-48 (180 HP) gained abt 100 HP on a desk dyno.....See my signature to see what I did......Just a basic warm up, with a very nice improvement......Maybe Heads and Headers this coming winter........ :seeya
Thanks for the reply to my post. I am new to this mechanic stuff but have absolutely fallen in love with it. Let me see if I read your signature line right...
260H Competition Cam,
K&N Product of some sort,
Weiand Stealth Dual Plane Intake Manifold
Lars' Q-Jet Carb and Recurve Kit
A nice Exahaust System
3.55 Gear Ratios
If you don't mind I have a few (possibly silly) questions...
What does 260H refer to when talking about Cams?
How do you check/adjust Gear Ratios?
There's someone on the fourm...that has a stock L48 lower end, but has added, heads, cam, intake, carb, exhaust, etc and got a high 12! You may want to search him out.
