Big Block spark plugs

What spark plug is best for a 1973 454 for street use? I thought all big blocks used the long reach plugs, but O'Reily's website lists AC Delco R44T which is a short reach tapered seat plug.

R44T is the correct plug for a stock 73 454

With stock ignition and a decent tune, I've had a great time running around on some AC RapidFires in my 1974 454.

the basic stock BB plugs for a 396/427 is the 3/4 reach but a 454 uses the short 44T series which is a small tapered plug....and not interchangable........

you could aslo use the 45T which is a little hotter in the heat range

I use a AC R43T.... Clears everything well and easy to get access to.... One heat range colder then stock for my rig to help with detonation and plug burning...
