Default Casting Date Question

My 291 BB heads are dated F 12 9, which would be June '69. I assume they would be for '70 model year?

Since 69 production went till Dec. of 69, that date should be good for late production 69's.

I'm not sure 291 heads were ever used in Corvette production

I need to clarify my post. The heads did not come off a Corvette to my knowledge. I believe they were taken off a Chevelle but not sure what year. I assumed that both Corvette and Chevelle changeovers happened in August of '69 but apparently that was an odd year for Vettes and they ran thru the full calendar year. I had forgotten or was not aware of that. In any case I think the spark plugs were different between '69 and '70 in those heads which is what I was actually trying to pin down. As far as 291's being used in Corvettes...one of the listings show them with an application in 435 horse 427's so I would suppose that would be for a Vette. I am not sure if any of the other Chevy models had that combination other than Corvettes.
