Default Is this a vent line

I am replacing the hoses to me vacuum canister, the bottom hose does not seem to go anywhere, is it a vent?

it's hard to tell from that pic, but mine only has 1 outlet on the bottom. it's a big @1/2 in. rubber hose @ 6 in long that is a vent.

The only nipples on the canister are the three on top and they are all connected (line from fuel tank, line from carb manifold vacuum source, line to PCV and/or to carb inlet at base). If you also have a fitting on the bottom of the canister, I think that's a drain for any accumulated liquid.

Awesome, as I could not find anything that looks like it connects there, I think it is a vent or like you said some sort of drain.

No wording at the bottom...

I have this book

Here is a schematic showing only 5 connections, I have 5 on top and the one at the bottom...

Here is a pic of the top of the can showing the 5 hoses...

ok thats just like mine. you should have a hose on it @4-6 in . it is just a vent or drain hose. the hose goes toward the rear and hooks up to nothing.

If there is a hole below that canister [open to the ground], that drain hose should run through it.
