Default Brake Caliper Question

I have an original 73BB and my rear caliper has a leak. I would like to rebuild these myself and want to convert them to the oring using a kit. Since these are the original calipers they are not SS sleeved. Can I still use the oring kit even if the calipers are not SS sleeved?

You can use an O ring kit with the steel bores, IF the bores aren't all pitted out, which is more times than none with these old cars.

Actually the steel bores look good, however there are pits at the bottom of the calipers. I will give it a shot and if it leaks I will just purchase a set with SS sleeved.

These are the originals. The car has been stored most of its life. It only has 36K original miles.

Thanks for the replies.

Some of the brake caliper vendor will SS sleeve your own calipers and send them back to you. Might be an opportune time to do it.

We would be happy to have your sleeved and rebuilt with the O-ring pistons and seals. Let me know if we can help
