Default AC Control Max versus Norm Air Flow

For those with AC on their C3, do you see a noticeable in air flow between the Max and Norm positions? I think there should be a pronounced difference.

Usually it is a noticeable difference, same as going from norm to recirc on a late model car.

Air flow wont be any more on max,but it will be colder. On max the car uses the air from the cabin instead of outside air so it keeps getting colder!

When I put mine on Max it puts the fan on High speed. When you flip it over to norm it just uses the speed selector for 4 different speeds but not high(or does not engage the high fan speed relay on the firewall). I thought something was wrong but I checked the switch and the high speed relay and that is the way it is wired. On a 77.

I notice a difference in airflow from the vents when I switch from normal to max. It has to do with the floor vent opening and the cowl/wiper vent closing. On max it is just recirculating cabin air. When on norm, it is pulling in air form outside and forcing air into the cabin...kinda like blowing up a balloon. You can actually feel the air going past the door seals when set on norm.
