I've got a 79 vette and am looking to put a set of Daytona ground effects on it, maybe make it a 79/80 hybrid. Unfortunately it's hard to visualize how it'd look as a complete package from the individual parts. Does anyone have any pictures to help me out? Also just tell me if you think I'm crazy straight up for messing w/ the body too much. Thanks in advance.
Personally I wouldnt go with the ground effects. The c3 already has one of the coolest looking shapes around without the addition of ground effects. This is all my opinion of course. I actually am changing my 76 slightly with a 80-82 style front bumper, and 80-82 rear bumper. Some info youll hear over and over around here though....do whatever your gonna like...its your car!!
By the way...I dont have it with me, but I think theres a pic of a vette with daytona kit in the c3 Corvette Central catalogue.
You might see if you can locate an older Ecklers catalogue. They used to show the ground effects pieces on a car. I have an old 2000 catalogue that shows some of the pieces on an 80 vette. (page 177). I opted to put a whole front clip on mine, after I was hit in a parking lot. Before the wreck, I adapted the daytona front bumper to my existing clip with the side fender panels. I am not sure if anyone sells those pieces anymore. Ecklers might.
Check my SIG....it is the Daytona package on front/back/sides and daytona II series hood (2" clearance)
there are other C3's in my town of 2,000, so I like looking different...
