shifter vibration
I have a manual 4 speed shifter in my 76 stingray,after shifting into 4th Im getting rattling in my shifter.After shifting in and out of 4th a few times it stops and is very smooth.Any one have any ideas what the problem could be? Thanks

I had a similar issue with mine. I put a small black rubber band between the t-handle and the shifter shaft. I plan on also putting a thin piece of tape/plastic between the ID of the handle and the OD of the shaft.
I fixed my broken motor mounts after I heard the fan cutting the fan shroud. It helped this problem but did not eliminate it.

I found my half shaft is out of balance on the left side.The mechanic said they need to be replaced on both sides.I had already decided to replace the half shafts and the rear differential from a 335 to a 370 around the first of the year.Its the only part of the driveline that hasnt been replaced.Surely it will fix the problem.I put new high performance motor mounts in her afew months ago when I put the 475hp stroker in,along with the rebuilt 4 speed and all new tranny mounts,cables,ect.thanks for the input though,it pointed me in the right direction on where to look for my problem
