Cool Deal! It won't take much nitrous to see a big difference. It will act like the ultimate intercooler! You'll probably need to run a step colder plug is about it and back the timing back at least 4 degrees just for safety until you see what the plugs fuel and timing looks like. PM me if you have any questions. You'll be a bad man with a pump gas streetable car!
Wish the OP were closer and I'd trade the STS turbo baffles for a weekend to can see how they affect the track ET's. I'd like to hear how my 509 would sound with the maxflows.
I would love to do a back to back comparison with the STS mufflers. If someone wanted to ship me a set, I would test them out at the track. Who knows, they may be better. I don't how much they could possibly improve over these, but you never know!
My new max flows arrived today, got them installed, went for quick test ride, and then it started pouring rain. So far I really like them
I was used to always running open sidepipes...the max flows have a much deeper rumble and good tone. they are loud at WOT but it doesnt tickle your ears like open pipes. Idle and cruise speeds sound good and people can hear me coming but its not obnoxious anymore.
I also noticed my throttle response feels more crisp and low end torque and drivability are improved. I'm going to put car on dyno again tomorrow at a friends shop to compare hp numbers to open pipes. I'll make a new post tomorrow night showing results.
You usually will pick up low end and mid range torque with a good muffler over an open header. Make sure you check your carb tune. Usually you have to richen the carb on open headers, so you might be a little rich with the mufflers.
I told you they have a deep sound. It's hard to explain, but I like it. You should hear them going down the track with a 250hp shot of nitrous on them at 7500 rpm!!!
My AFR was in 12.5-12.8 range at WOT with open pipes...i was told to get it down to 11.5-12.0 with supercharger. I notice cruise and light throttle AFR is richer but didnt really get into WOT testing yet because it started raining today when I was on my ride. So tomorrow I'll find out on the dyno.

I would like to see that do you have any videos of your car?
You might be just about right then!
Here's a race last year. The car was slower then, it only ran 6.30's in the 1/8th. I'm in the second pass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0N8n2NNORs

car looks good hanging tire! 6.30 in 1/8mile isn't that like a 9sec 1/4mile pass?...you def have a really fast streetable car there. I think the air scoop looks pretty good too. I was debating that look when I got the blower but i didnt have any pictures to go by then.
Yeah that's 9.90 or so. That was with umported heads and a much smaller cam and only 150 shot. All that changed over winter.
I built the car for that engine out of the hood, old school look. I think I might take the air cleaner off an get a big cowl hood like yours for a change. It's been like this since 1993.
Hope you like the mufflers!
Bluzman, what trans and converter size are u using? what rear also?
I'm building similar set up, 406 solid roller pump gas nitrous motor.
What NA hp did your motor make? I'm new to corvettes so forgive me or all the questions.
I love your car. Nice avatar pic also!!!
My converter is a nitrous converter from TCI so it is a little tight about 3500 normally, but on the launch it flashes 4500 on motor and 5500 on N2O. It's their Ultra Street series. Good for 1000hp and nitrous. In that video that was a TCI TH350. I did switch to a TCI powerglide over the winter for the higher 1.80 1st gear to help with the wheel standing issue. They are lighter and have less loss, but you still have a 1:1 gear for the street just like a TH400 or Th350, so no real downside just less shifts. My rear gear is a 3.89.
My motor, 434sbc, makes 630 to 650 at 7000pm. Again it has a nitrous cam so it hurts the N/A power some. 10.5 compression. RHS 235 cc heads ported by Chad Spier racing (I woudl HIGHLY recommend his work). The cam is a solid roller 271/282 @.050 on a 113 LSA and .753 lift. It's a custom grind my friend here at Compcams spec'd it for me. The intake is an Edlebrock Victor Ram with FAST throttle bodies from our EZefi line that have the sensors and injectors built in. Then a ZEX nitrous plate and solenoid under each throttle body. A FAST XFI is controlling all of the engine and nitrous functions. Tires are MT ET Street 275/60's. Car weighs 3100lbs with me, both nitrous bottles and fuel ready to race.
Tekvette, just make sure you watch that weak Corvette rear end! They are dangerous if you start putting power down. There are only a couple of options to remedy it.
Of course now I'm sure I will be beaten to death by the purists, but it's true! I've got the axles to prove it. This was with a weak 400hp 350 on motor only.
Thx for the info. My 406 made 530 hp with the nitrous cam. I don't have the specs on me as I write but cam has like 630ish lift with a single holley Quickfuel carb. I built it to street drive mailny and want to run the local 10.0 class. I am going to put a 2 stage direct port on it. I was looking at that EFI set up u have-nice system-I may go to it down the road.
I have a th400 to go behind it and an 8" Trans Specialties converter. This trans and conv combo was in my friends 750hp car and should suit me well on the spray.
I am aware of the rear issues and being no purist myself I will be installing that Autofab 9" set up after I get her up and running.
I plan on using a 3:08 gear ratio so she'll be good on the freeway and I have that low 1st gear with the 400 to get it moving. What do you think of my plans? Anything you would change? Tracks here are 1/4 mile tracks (etown) and (atco)
Nice to see a car like yours.
That sounds like a good plan to me. Shoot you could probably get by with just a single plate under that carb and run 9's depending on your weight and traction. 3.08 might not be that bad since you will be running a 3 speed trans, and hitting it with nitrous. It will take some of the hit out of it and help alot with traction. That nitrous will make up the 60ft! I have a 3.50 gear I might try sometimes if they ever open Memphs Motorsports park this year. It's a 1/4 mile and I think I may have too much gear for 150+ mph. Plus I'm going to have to add a stupid parashoot to unfortunately. Don't forget the safety. It sucks to add weight with a cage or roll bar, but you gotta do it!
That cage looks great and I like the 2 toned interior-gotta have swing outs in these cars.
Those seats pass NHRA tech the way the belts have to go around them? And do you have the seat bolted to the crossbar on the cage? I'll be doing a 6 pt at least so again with my QUESTIONS.
I see the dual TB set up-looks very nice on the car. U keep posting pics, I'll keep looking, haha
I can kinda see your rear suspension a bit-u have a 4 link as well?
I agree that the 3.90's will be a bit steep for your nitrous passes in the 1/4 mile.
I was thinking of doing a plate for 1 of the stages-I'm not sure.
