I actually changed seats over winter too. I went with some of Summit type. My seats are bolted on the stock holes so they are fine, you just have to have the bar behind the seat for the belts and to back up the seat.

Nothing like real world numbers.

That's one stout SB, your getting close to the 400 RWHP mark.

I had built some inserts for my side pipes from Speedway motors auger style inserts. Kinda like the STS inserts, there is not comparison. When I first cranked the car with the hooker Max flows I blew stuff off the shelves. The inserts were so restrictive that the motor couldn't breath. I also noticed that in second gear the tires would more readily break loose.

Now I've never run the STS baffles this was inserts that I built from the auger style inserts.

I'm also impressed with the sound, its a deep sound not the raspy sound like the inserts.

Good test and numbers. You might want to play with the air fuel ratio and see where it actually likes it. Maybe it liked the last afr and that's where the torque went. Who knows. I do know there is no perfect afr, every motor is different. I also believe you guys are right, that carb is too small for a blower. A stout 350 chevy will run a 750 carb. With your blower it's like adding 100 cubic inches to the motor so you have to flow that much air. I think I would go to something in the 850cfm range. You will probably pick up horsepower.
Over all though, that's a tuff small pump gas small block.

when i put the blower on my goal was to break 400rwhp, I'm 25hp away. I figure I'm probably losing about 20-22% power thru drivetrain so I'm around 480hp at crank now. If i went to smaller pulley I could get boost into 8psi range and probably reach my goals, but I have 9.1 compression so i dont want to push my luck with boost esp with cast heads and hot summer temps.

my first pull the afr was 12.8-13.0 and then car made 359rwhp 378rwtq. I re-jetted carb and got it down to 12.0-12.2 and it picked up extra power.

when I ordered the carb from pro-systems i gave them all my specs for motor, gearing, tire and weight. the carb was suppose to be custom matched for my app. I asked about the 780cfm being too small for blower and they said that it would be fine. I was figuring i needed like 850-900cfm..but the carb guy told me if i went too big i make get a bog on the street with the stick trans??? I seen a few 400+rwhp combos with same blower on other forums and those guys ran 950hp holley ( flow 880cfm). I want another 100 cfm now. I'm going to call pro-system tomorrow and see if they could take carb back and re-do it.

I built a daily driver prostreeted69 Chevy C10 with a 350 and a B&M 144 blower. I ran a 900cfm on it. I can't ever image a bog with a supercharger. Those things are instant torque!

It's very difficult to over carb a blower motor. Back when I was running one, I had an Enderle mechanical fuel injector which was rated at 2100 cfm on a 427 big block. There was no bog regardless of how hard you stabbed the throttle.

There is company in Monterey Ca. that has developed an all steel side pipe. Company's muffler X flows almost 70% of what an empty pipie of the same diameter flows. They project hp increases over anything (street side pipe) on the street . Dyno testing in August on 492 Cobra and LT5 Vette.I will get more info as soon as possible.

Another update, I ran a 5.64 at 126.2 mph last night (1/8th mile track). These mufflers can't be too bad!!!

Just a streetable pump gas small block on drag radials!

Mickey Thompson 275/60 dot drag radial. That's the only size we're allowed in my class.

I have nitto drag radials 275/60/15 but they are almost dead, was thinking of trying hoosier quick time pros 28 x 11.5, or hoosier 275/60/15 drag radials. Have you ever ran the hoosiers?

We can also run the Hoosier 275/60. They are very popular, but they wear ALOT faster. They are much softer.

I am using the maxflows on my stock 454, and everybodys loves the sound.
Especially other Vette drivers. Only one co driver mentioned it was to loud.
I have a little video for you (you will need a subwoofer ;-) )
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvxAm-XnYUI
jump to 1:20 or 1:50

The garda-video is also made with the maxflows, but with a bad microphone.
My other videos of last year are with the old reverse flow mufflers.

I will try to make a new video when i have the time. But it s not so easy to get a good sound result in a driving car. The dynamic of the exhaust is very high and the noise of the wind is a big problem too.

Markus, great video! Thanks very much for sharing. I'm definitely sold on the MaxFlows after that.
