79' center console replace or paint?

I'm planning on painting the center shift console yet the chrome trim is missing. Any ideas for restoring the chrome trim or would I just be better off buying a new console? Also I've notice some selling for as low as $39 while others at $129. What's the difference?

We just picked up a roll of 3M Carbon Fiber wrap ..... going to do the center console instead of paint ..... will post up later on the results ....

if you are referring to the center dash console or gauge bezel, I'd replace it and the shift console plate. They are not very expensive and they look great when installed new. The ash tray door can be painted a Satin black to match too.

I would paint them. To replace both center console pieces, you are looking at 350 and plus some more for the "while I am at it". Paint it and spend the money somewhere else.

I agree with you. I'd only replace it if it were broken. I just got my car two days ago and already spent almost $700 at Willcox and there's a lot more it truly needs.
