Default 82 diff front mount bushing/cushion/snubber??

i purchased a rubber kit with upper, lower, bolt and washer that says 63-82 on whole package, but the bushing package says 63-79 and the upper is deffinately smaller in size, looking on all vendor sites, no one seems to have the 80-82 upper bushing. is it ok to use the 63-79 upper bushing ? thoughts/feedback are appreciated ( i see where some sites sell 82 upper, but says SMALLER, thoughts??)

The 80-82 uses a completly diffrent mounting system than the 63-79 with possibly the same Bushing on the Forward Mount. So unless it looks the same its not. Try VB&P or Energy Suspension. A call to most of the major Venders spec the 80-82 will probably produce what you need as well.

It's all the same. The one that came out of the car has likely been smashed for years, so it may look like it's bigger in diameter.

yes it is smashed/expanded, but that doesnt cause the top washer to be larger in diameter... thanks for the replies

The bushing on the 1980-1982 cars had a smaller hole than the 1963-1979. GM and all other manufacturers discontinued this bushing about three years ago. The solution is to enlarge the hole in the snubber mounting bracket a tiny bit. The bushing will work and install just fine once this is done.

I know its a PITA, but it is the only way to replace the cushion with one that will work.

When I replaced mine quite a few years ago, replaced it with a poly bushing since poly handles greases/oils better than rubber. Had a leaking pinion seal at the time. Glad I did, even though the pinion seal leak fixed when new rear end put in.
