Hey Dave. My L82 heads have screw in studs and guide plates. The casting number is 333882. I believe they have the 1.94 intakes and 1.50 exhaust. I am not sure about the valve sizes. This has some good info. mike...
Dave,
The site mds3013 listed is where I got the spec manual that I referred to in my PM to you. I recommend you download the manual. Its come in handy over the years.
Bigger valves on the L-82 versus the L-48, higher lift cam on the L-82, higher compression ratio 9:1 versus 8.5:1, cast aluminum intake on the L-82, forged crank and pistons L-82, 4 bolt main versus 2 bolt main L-82 versus L-48 and a few other differences. There are quite a few differences on an L-82 versus L-48 and the L-82 is a mid-high RPM motor while the L-48 is GM's standard passenger car motor making its lesser HP down low in the RPM range which also makes the L-48 a better engine for the automatic transmission cars. Hope that helps! More than you asked for.
