gross horsepower
If you were measuring horsepower by gross not net what would the horsepower

challenge! L48 net rating was 180 hp. I thought net was between 74 and 77% of gross. So dividing by .75 gives a gross rating of 240 hp. MJ

1976 Net was 165HP.... :D
1977 was 180 HP

The 1976 L48 is essentially the base engine from 1971 with emissions crap added. That engine was rated at 270 GROSS so that 240 estimate looks good to me. :yesnod:
