I am not that concerned with the color stripes on my vacuum hoses I just want to replace all of them under the hood and to all connections.
I want to go to my local parts house that has rolls of vacuum line and buy the length and size that I need.
Can someone here please tell me how much of what size lines do I need to replace all of the vacuum hoses, except for the ones coming off of the heater control as I bought them from Wilcox. The others I can do one at a time from the headlights, etc.
I am good with generic all black vacuum lines as I am looking for a beauty daily driver and not a show car. (my 63 is all GM marked hoses, correct clamps, etc).
Yes Sir; Just buy a kit, ( 60.00 ) instructions as well as all the lengths will be included. Then you just install them at your convenience. It's a lot easier then buying pcs. at the auto store. Have a great one. Gene

This way you get all the hoses you need, pre-cut to length, and with correct molded ends so that the hoses don't pinch closed at the bends. You'll also get complete routing instructions, along with new "t"s and the tape to bundle the hoses.
The colored traces on each hose, make it much easier to properly route them and also to follow them if you ever have a problem. They also look great under your hood, even on a non show car.

But if I knew the hose sizes and how much was needed I can go to my parts guy and buy it off a spool, cut it to size and pay about 10-20 cents a foot, then remove and replace and cut one section at a time . Saving money for other parts doesn't hurt.

If I had the total in feet I will not forget where the hoses go. I can do them one at a time and follow the original path of each hose. If I pull them all off, every vacuum hose, it will be a bitch to remember. That should make sense.
You don't have to take the hoses off to measure 'em. You might have to estimate a little here and there, and add a little for a margin of error. What, are you scared you're gonna buy an extra couple feet of hose? It's nice to have some laying around, anyway.
Hi,
I know this is an old thread, but the picture isn't viewable and I live in Alaska while my 74 lives in TX. I'm going down for Christmas and I am going to order all the hoses I need to replace all the vacuum lines. Blue corvette, blue hoses. That's OK if you think it's tacky, I just need an approximation of how much length of each diameter I will need. Thank you.
