On a 1969 Corvette, there's a light-button switch on the center dash for seat belt. when you start the car, the light goes on and when you press the button underneath, the light goes out.. I understand that there is a small wiring harness for this, ie: that you dont have to buy a whole wiring harness. Any ideas???
It's actually a little circuit board and picks up the hot from I believe the fuel gauge. The lamp just twists into the hole you see in the pictures with no wires needed.
It's the button=switch I'm having problems with..where does the circuitry come into play with the picture of the circuit board you show??
The button when pushed opens the set of contacts you see in the first picture breaking the circuit and turning the seatbelt lamp off.
The lamp socket has two tabs that when twisted into place picks up the hot and the ground on the circuit board.
Hope this helps. I just had mine apart about a week ago but didn't take nearly as many pictures as I had intended. I do have most if not all the parts if you need any more pictures let me know and I'll take some later today.
This is a major help! I'm having my dash pulled apart by my guy who restores mainly Corvettes and I'll make sure that's in it when he does...the pictures you sent were fine...By the way, none of the Corvette places ( Corvette America, Corvette Central, Ecklers, Paragon, etc) sell this circuit board as far as I know...?? Thanks a bunch for your answers!!
The only thing that circuit does is: 1) turn on the light when the ignition switch first goes to RUN mode; 2) turn the light out when you press the button (push-to-break switch).
That circuit board is very simple...no components other than that switch. You can always resolder circuit foils or replace the switch. No reason to replace it with an aftermarket part.
