Need to take off my passenger door. (I have the body off the frame and doing repair to the rocker channels.) Any special procedure involved doing this? One helper holding the door while I unbolt it at the body (lower hinge) and door (upper hinge)?
I suspect it is a PITA to align it back the way it was?
Hi Johan,
You might want to run a couple of layers masking tape on the door, front fender, and rear fender, edges. Its pretty easy to chip the paint by accident.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan
It will take some time but not a PITA. I removed my driver's door from the hinges (left the hinge on the body) Had a helper to realign the door but didn't get it. After my helper left i got my bottle jack to jack the door to the appropriate level and while I had a floor jack near the rear of the door. I got it right then.
I'm adding a repair piece to the #2 body mount/rocker channel. In order to get it up in the hinge pillar i need to remove the lower hinge bolts, and I don't want to let the door hang in just the top hinge.
