Default Exhaust Wrap

Hello Everyone,
About 5 months ago I added dual exhaust to my 76 (no headers).
My question is this: I've now got a hot *** pipe running below my *** as well as the battery. Will I notice any difference by wraping the pipes with some of the insulating wrap advertised by Ecklers, Year One, etc?
Also, without the wrap, is my battery being effected by the location of the new pipe?

Thanks

If the pipes are correctly installed they are running to the inside of both the seat and the battery compartment.

wrap will hold moisture and rust the pipes prematurely.

If you can feel the heat (place your hand on the floor & inside the battery compartment), then wrap the pipes. I have wrapped headers and they were fine 10 years later. If your pipes are stainless, then you have absolutely nothing to worry about by wrapping them. If they are steel, and you have to replace them in 10-15 years, BIG DEAL. It might save you a boiled out battery, Sulfuric Acid fumes inside the car, and most importantly, keep your Keester Kool.
