Vintage Air..... Spend $1500 and be done with it.... If you keep dumping money in the factory system, you will continue to work on it every few years....(or months like I did) and for what you will spend keeping it running, you could have bought VA and had colder air, more of it, less drag on the engine....Not to mention no heat absorbing through the evap box and entering the hvac system when the AC is off and pumping hot under the hood air into the cabin...
Been there, done that...I could have bought two VA kits for what I spent on my factory air system in 5 years....
...Are you talking about the orifice in the eliminator block?
The VIR Eliminator kit says that the switch is adjustable and it needs to be 1/4-1/2 turn for R134. This is to regulate the low pressure for cycling the compressor.
The C3 newer system uses an orifice tube to adjust so if one is changing to that, then the orifice tube should be changed to smaller.
The VIR type is adjustable so the VIR Eliminator is evidently in between.
Just got the rest of the fittings needed to finish the AC install. While I was at it I installed a C4 fan. Still not sure, do I need to add a high pressure cutout switch? The one that I plan on using is on the low pressure side is the pump line. I still am not sure if the top line is going to hit the hood yet. I may have to clear the underside in that area.
