Ok, I'm just a little bit peeved :cuss :mad :cuss :mad :cuss :mad :cuss :mad :cuss :mad :cuss :mad :cuss :mad
This new mount is just a wee-bit small in the saddle - so it won't quite slip over the motor bracket coming off the frame !
Should I pry it on ? ...maybe put some grease on it ? - Any ideas ???
*My other option would be to 'remove' the mount and spread the arms apart but I'm trying to avoid this....
Re: Help ! -motor mount problems -Part II (One GM A Tech)
Ok, I'll try prying it tonight (hopefully w/o breakin' stuff).
Already tried the 'Bubba' way of dropping the engine on the mounts - no luck.
So, what tool's the best for this ? ...a screwdriver is too flimsy.
Maybe a small crowbar ??? - is there such a tool ? :smash:  :smash:
Re: Help ! -motor mount problems -Part II (verskel)
I'm bandwidth challanged at the moment and can't view the images, but it sounds like you have the Chevelle motor mounts which are 1/8" narrower than the Corvette mounts. I bought the same thing cause only the Chevelle mounts are made from 1/4" thick sheet metal, and I felt the 1/8" Corvette mounts were a bit weak.
What I did was lay the mount on an edge of a 4x4 and then hit it with a hammer and let the soft wood of the 4x4 bend the mount. I wish I had my web site so I could post some pics. Email me if you have any questions.
