Default Weird turn signal problem.

OK, this one is kinda weird. When I am driving my 1980 'vette at night, I can sometimes notice the passenger side turn signal indicator on the dashboard faintly flashing on and off. When the phenomenon exhibits it self, the flashing is rythmic, but the phenomenon's exhibition itself is random, intermittent. I have no idea even how to begin trying to figure out what is making this happen, never mind how to fix it, so I'm hoping that this is something that one of you guys has seen before, and can give me a little push in the right direction. Thanks,

Scott

The right front parking/turn signal socket is loosing its ground, when it does lose its ground it finds an alternative ground through the turn signal indicator in the dash which lights the indicator.

WOW!! I wasn't expecting such a specific answer, did you sneak over here and check my car out? LOL!!!

So, it's just the indicator that's lighting up? Not the turn signal itself? I was worried that other drivers would think that I was driving around with my turn signal on.

OK, so I track down the ground and make sure it has a good connection, and it will fix it? I figured it would be some crazy bubba wiring thing that I would have to deal with.

P.S. I almost choked to death laughing about your remark in another thread about how Chevy should have included a test light with every Corvette! Thank you, for the help, and the laugh!!

IMO test lights rule

Here is a thread I posted some pics of a temp ground and some pics of what can cause a socket not to ground. Many times I get by just cleaning the 3 wire connector that connects to the car harness.Good Luck
