I had the Unilite conversion on my 71 for 6 years, and never gave me a problem. If I remember, the voltage to the distributor has to be below a certain level or it can harm the sensor. Make sure you check this. I added a MSD 6AL to add more punch and a rev limiter(which came in handy at the dragstrip).

I've had one for 3 (4?) years now. Been nothing but trouble free. AND NO POINTS!!!

It does require a voltage of 6 volts, not 12. So you may need a ballast resistor to drop the voltage to the coil.

:yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod: :smash:  Oh yes, this is a GREAT setup and you'll love it. I ran one in my stock distributor for over 7 years and would have kept on using it until the tach drive gave out...then I put in entirely new Unilite Distributor... NEVER, NEVER even the slightest problem! For my '70 I found it best to remove the distributor for installation ease and you need to pay very close attention to the directions...especially the part about the ballast resistor if you need one. Also make sure to use the grease they supply that goes between the unit and the base of the distributor. ENJOY!!!!

Another pleased Unilite user here. I've had one on the car below for eight years. I also installed a Mallory HyFire ignition box at the same time. Good stuff.

1bad69, is your dual point the 3400 series? I've been considering the pertronix conversion for mine but have heard all the horror stories :(

I have run one in the vette for years now with no trouble. I also have one in the 65 Mustang also with no problem. Just one word of caution, dont ever try and crank the engine or "bump" it with the starter with the ground wire disconnected. Poof goes the module, dont ask how I know.

Hi
What's the cost of this unilite conversion kit, if I may ask ?
Where did you get it from ?
Did the resistor come with it ?
Thanks Gunther :seeya
