Anthony,If you have already tried 1 tooth clockwise and the dist was off in the opposite direction , you can remove the dist gear and rotate it 180 degrees.

These are the factory stake marks.
The main purpose to position both the hei and the points dist was to allow timing room for the vacuum advance can.



Is this cable aligment will be the same for a 1986 vette???
