Failed Comp Cams Roller Cam Update !!
The motor has calmed down quite a bit. That LT-1 is a pretty mild cam when compared to what I had in there before. I am down on top end horsepower but it feels like I picked up some low end torque. I will still plan to build up the 406, but now I at least have the car on the road operational.
Next step is to contact Comp Cams about the warranty on the old camshaft and lifters. For all the pain and agrevation that his car put me through, she redemmed herself last night with a top off cruise down the street, purring along with a little kid rock blaring in the background.

Not being sure the motor would survive. I just a factory LT-1 soli lifter cam back in. I would be sure not to plug up any hydraulic lifter parts with remainign debris by running a solid lifter. I took a $200 gamble and it seemed to pay off.
As far as the roller, one of the vertical alignment bars failed. This caused the lifter to rotate and thrash the cam. When I originally bought this set up from comp cams I had to warranty one of the roller lifters before it was installed as it had a seized roller wheel. The setup lasted a good 8,000 miles in the car and none of the other cam lobes showed any evidence of wear, cam walk or anything out of the ordinary.
