I remember reading a post somewhere that you can tell a lot about the way your car is running by the emmisions test. I was wondering if anyone could read my results and let me know. I just got back from the testing center my car passed (WOOOHOOO) and here are my results
HC 123
CO 3.65
CO2 10.17
The HC didn't change with the new motor but the CO went from <1 on the stock L48 to 3.65. Anyway any thoughts would be appreciated. I'm still trying to dial in my carb so I thought this might tell me something.
Ok, makes sense. Yes, you're running a bit rich. Not that bad, though. You don't have a cat, right?
I would expect a stock motor correctly tuned to make about 1% CO. The HC count is usually decent with stock cams. Hi-perf cams will skyrocket the HC due to overlap.
The CO2 value is just there to make sure you don't have exhaust leaks.
Edit: Your sig says you have a cat. Kind of high numbers then... Lean it out a bit.
