As I am progressing though my front suspension project I have the "caulk" in the upper wheel wells that is cracked and falling off and I would like to fix it. I say caulk because I don't know what else to call it. Is there a better name for it and where can I pick some up?
The only sealer that I know of would be the sprayed sound deadener that was used to prevent paint damage from throw stones on the top underside of the fenders and that would be the same as spray undercoating.
Hi,
I agree that there was no caulk in the wheel wells originally. Just a very little bit of spray undercoating and a little black out.
Any chance of a picture of what you're seeing?
Maybe some material from a bit of body work?
Regards,
Alan
You are likely to see excess bonding compound around the edges of the fender skirts and the bonding strip between the hood surround panel and fender. There could also be factory sound deadener under there.
