Hooker Header fitment question
I'm just in the process of pulling out 1 7/8" Hedman Headers on my '68 big block - they have been on the car for 9 years or so now, and have been fine, but now with the 489 stroker engine and 500+ HP I'm changing up to a new set of 2 1/8" Super Comp #2225 and a custom made 3" stainless under floor system. So far I have just temporarily installed the passenger header - it all fits fine (just a little bit of grinding on the flange to clear the head bolts and grinding one of the bolt holes out a little. My question is - the rearmost header tube kicks-out and runs right under the the heater cowling - its really very close - it looks as though I'll need to install some form of insulation to prevent damage and heat soak in to the ducting! (don't really want to 'loose' the heater/fan unit) - has anyone else on here experienced the same issue ?
